First Visit to Hickory Nut - Tallulah Falls

We took Jack and Nixon to the Ballou Family Mountain House in March. We made our traditional Wal Mart stop for supplies and treats along the way. That first Friday night that we arrived, Jack and Nixon and I took the traditional walk up the side of the mountain and we all watched videos.

On that Saturday, we stayed around the mountain house and let Jack explore. We walked down to the lake and over to the Gorgue and the Interpertive Center. Jack loved the easy trail at the Center and along the way he got to explore the fire trucks at the fire station. We watched more videos at night.

On that Sunday, we hiked Panter Creek Trail - our trail. Kat and Nixon and I were all so excited to have Jack on our trail. Jack had a blast playing with Nixon along the way and in the river - chasing sticks. Jack was amazed by all the nature and asked a ton of questions about trees, leaves, plants and bugs. We all had a fun time.
