What a day. My first Fathers Day. There was another Breedlove convoy, this time up I-85 to Charlotte, North Carolina.
We were the guests of both the Charlotte Knights (AAA Chicago White Sox) and one of their players - Chad Bentz. Chad has a similiar hand condition as Jack. Chad not only agreed to meet Jack, he invited Jack onto the filed prior to the game to throw baseballs and learn how to swith the glove from hand to hand.
Chad was awesome with Jack. We appreciate Chad, the staff of the Knights and the other players - they were all so kind to us and especially Jack.
Grandma and Grandpa Breedlove as well as Aunt Jennifer Breedlove were along for the trip. I think jack liked having them with him.
After the game, Jack and I ran the bases together - that was also fun.
The Breedlove convoy pointed the cars south and headed back down I-85, tired and hot but Jack had a great day - so did we.
Mom and Jack gave me a great gift - "the most excellent" man bag, which I use to carry my books to work in each day.

Balloupalooza

The Ballou family had a mini reunion in June. Many of the events were at 1633. I called the whole affair - Balloupalooza!
There were Ballou's from multiple states and all sides of the ballou family. It was a very nice few days. We were glad that Jack to meet so many of his cousins and Aunts and Uncles - that was very special.
Mothers Day
I cannot find the photos from Mothers Day. When I do, I will post them.
It was a wonderful day. Jack and I served Kat breakfast in bed - Kat fixed it, what can I say, I cannot cook and Kat is a great cook. Jack kept thinking it was Kat's birthday - that was pretty funny.
Jack gave her her real Mothers day gift and card - that was awesome. Now, Nixon, Thatcher and Mr. Reagan (our dogs) have always given, at least, a card - but this was different.
Grandma Breedlove came over and Jack and I took Mom and Grandma to the Mothers Day Atlanta Braves game. Mom and Grandma got a flower from the Braves.
Grandma Breedlove had a surprise for Jack - his first bike. Jack took to the bike right away and just had a great time.
Kat is a wonderful Mom. Jack is blessed.
The Long Drive Home (on my birthday)

Well, it was my 39th Birthday - and with Jack with us, it was the best one ever. We had a last morning on Satellite Beach then we pointed the Explorer north and headed back to Atlanta.
Along the way, we had a Whataburger in Gainesville, Florida. Besides In-n-Out, Whataburgers are about as good as they come. We also stopped in Tifton, Georgia at Kat's sisters house. Aunt Lisa had already been to Atlanta to see Jack but this was the first meeting for Jack and his Uncle Jeff Gibbs.
Near Macon we hit very serious and very heavy rain. It was so bad that we pulled off in Macon for dinner. We drove onto Conyers to get Nixon, who we missed so very much.
It was a long drive, made better by getting to listen to the Braves, and a wonderful trip.

Jack LOVES spaceships and I mean loves them. We were in Flordia. NASA is in Florida. Therefore, we took Jack to see spaceships. He loved it.
It was hot, hot, hot. And we are tired, tired, tired. But still..there were spacships...
I am not sure Jack understood it all but I do know he had a look of joy, excitment and amazement to see real spaceships.
Kat and I have now toured NASA twice in the past few years. It is a fun stop for adults and kids - if you are near the Space Coast - it is a must see.

The Breedlove convoy departed The Magic Kingdom pointed southeast for Satellite Beach, Florida. Along the way we passed several devistating wildfires that were hitting that area of Florida - it was a great tragedy.
We arrived at the Los Olas Brach Resort - a very nice place to stay (the only downside is the no dogs allowed policy) and after unpacking the many pieces of luggaue required by Master Jack and Queen Kat we all hit the swimming pool and the beach.
Jack was a little slow to warm up to the pool but he soon was having fun. He was not at all excited about the ocean.
The Disney All Star Sports Resort

Here are two photos from the Disney All Star Sports Resort. The All Star Resorts are just very basic - but Disney clean - hotels. They are perfect for a short visit with a schedule that has little downtime. Disney has several really nice resorts that are destinations unto them selves.
We all had a blast and we were so happy Jack got to go to the Magic Kingdom and all the other parts of the wonderful Word of Disney. Again, many thanks to Rachel.
